Your photo session is all about celebrating YOU—your story, your family, your milestones. At Texas Vogue Photography, my goal is to create an experience that is fun, stress-free, and filled with joy. A little bit of preparation goes a long way in helping you feel confident, comfortable, and excited when the camera starts clicking. Here are my top tips to help you get ready:
Your clothes should reflect your personality while also keeping the focus on you.
Families: Coordinate, don’t match. Pick 2–3 complementary colors and mix textures (denim, cotton, lace) for variety.
Seniors: Bring a few outfit options—something casual, something dressy, and maybe one that showcases a hobby, sport, or passion.
Kids: Keep it comfortable! If they’re fussy in an outfit, it’ll show in the photos.
Pro Tip: Avoid big logos or neon colors. Neutral tones, soft pastels, or timeless prints look gorgeous on camera.
Think of your session as a special event.
Ladies: Light makeup that highlights your natural features photographs beautifully. If you’re doing your own, don’t forget powder to reduce shine.
Gentlemen: A fresh haircut or trim a week before the session works best.
Kids: Just make sure their faces are clean and hair is brushed—perfection is not required, personality is!
Try to arrive 10–15 minutes early. This gives everyone time to settle in, adjust outfits, and relax before the fun begins. For children, schedule sessions at a time of day when they’re usually happiest and well-rested.
Snacks, water, or a favorite toy for little ones.
A touch-up kit (lip gloss, brush, wipes).
Props or items that make the session personal (a guitar, sports gear, a graduation cap, a favorite book).
The best photos happen when you’re relaxed and enjoying yourself. I’ll guide you through poses, prompts, and playful moments so nothing feels stiff or awkward. Think of it as hanging out with a friend who just happens to have a camera.
Remember—every image is fully edited before it’s delivered to you. You don’t need to stress about flyaway hair, tiny blemishes, or little imperfections. My job is to capture your authentic moments and make sure you shine.
Your session is more than just a photo shoot—it’s a chance to create memories that will last forever. With a little prep and a cheerful mindset, you’ll walk away with images you’ll treasure for years to come.
I can’t wait to see you in front of the camera!
